The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) has introduced a glamping export manual to showcase the potential for exporting niche lifestyle and fashion products overseas. The document aims to guide producers in creating products to meet market demands and increase their income in line with government policy. Using data from Grandview Research, DITP values the glamping global market at $3.15tn, growing by 10.2% in FY2019/20, with an estimated value of $5.93tn within the next seven years. While glamping is a popular market, DITP claims Thailand’s leisure industry still has an undeveloped ‘niche’ sector, meaning businesses lack deep market insight to expand further. DITP hopes that the new guide will provide Thai manufacturers with the know-how to make the most of the opportunity presented by the glamping sector.
